I was part of an NSF grant to RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) to research and prototype a social networking system for use by Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, faculty, and interpreters in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs at multiple universities. As part of this project, I did extensive needs assessment, information architecture documentation, evaluation of software systems, and prototyping and implementation of a pilot system.
